Brussels production plantkey figures

Belgium has the highest per capita production capacity for foreign-make motor vehicles in the world: about one million passenger cars. In incorporating the traditional car production location of Brussels, Audi has secured extra production capacity to cover its continuing growth. Following on from the production start of the Audi A3 in 2007, it will become the sole production plant of the Audi A1 in 2010.

The new Audi plant is located in the south-west of the capital city's region, which has a population of around one million. The production plant, including body shop, paint shop and assembly line, covers a site of 540,000 square metres. It is home to around 2,200 employees. The "Automotive Park" logistics and supply centre adjoins to the plant. Each day, 34 railway wagons, 55 trucks and twelve just-in-time suppliers deliver 7,200 cubic metres of material directly to the assembly lines.
