Changchun production plantkey figures

Audi posted a new sales record in China in 2007. This was the first year in which more than 100,000 vehicles were sold to customers in China and Hong Kong.

With 25 percent growth, Audi is therefore expanding faster than the market as a whole. Local production at Changchun comprised 73,404 of the Audi A6 and 19,764 of the Audi A4, making a total of 93,168 vehicles.

Changchun is the capital of Jilin Province and therefore in the belt of heavy industry in Northeast China. Jilin Province covers an area of 187,400 square kilometres, around half the size of Germany, but accounts for only two percent of China's land mass. Jilin has a 232 kilometre border with Russia as well as a border of approx. 1,200 kilometres with North Korea. Changchun is about one and a half hours by air from Beijing and has a population of around three million.
